Shoot Him Up

Summer is almost over.

I still have no idea where Grant will be going to school.

I did find out at the enrollment of the school I do not want Grant to attend that he needs a Hep A shot before they'll admit him in school.

Excellent. Just what we needed on top of  indecisive administrators. We can't tell you where you'll be, but be sure you have the immunization or you won't go anywhere.

So, off we went to Doc Thompson's for the shot. Which went over like a lead balloon. Apparently they make a numbing spray for children that exhibit a *certain* type of behaviour before getting a shot. My little can handle anything boy has turned into a shot refusing child.

I only put up with that for a second, but it was a second long enough for the nurse to recommend this numbing spray, which I thought was made up to make Grant think it wouldn't hurt. Apparently the nurse was being serious and kind of gave me the cold shoulder because I said he didn't need it, just shoot him up.

The day ended well with X Box and Wii games followed by a little Lego building and marshmallow roasting with Aidan.

Right after the shot in the elevator. Not a happy little boy.

Oh, this has nothing to do with this post. It's from early in the week.
My boys headed to the pool.....again. Without me.

Schultuete

My sweet assistant at the office is from Germany and she always tries to teach us new words or practices. There is a tradition in Germany for children entering first grade. Parents make them a "schultuete", which is a cone shaped poster board decorated with pictures and stickers and filled with school supplies and candy. The first day of first grade is covered with these giant things. In keeping with her tradition, she made Grant a beautiful one.

My sweet boy.

Right before grant dives into almost the entire
package of Air Heads.

And, a secret update to school. I heard through the grate vine of Mom's in my neighborhood that there was a place made for Grant to attend Cleveland. I've not heard the official news for myself, but a very good source texted me last night with the good news. So, keep your fingers crossed. (School starts next Wednesday and this last minute "ness" is about to make me crazy).

My Boys

I don't have a lot to report. We've been taking full advantage of the summer and enjoying every minute of it. Grant spent some time at Nannie's and discovered his new love for pecans. He's learned to sleep late (9:15), do somersaults in the pool, attempt Gainers with Stephen, play Mine Craft with Aidan and every now and then spend a little time with his Mommy.

Pool

Summer has been so busy I haven't really had time to blog. I sat down to think about what's been happening and I can sum it up in one word.

The pool.

July 4th

Grant's spent some time with his family in Kansas City last weekend. He was gone for 5 days.

5 days. From his Momma. He did great, so well in fact he could hardly find time to speak with me.

So, I'm learning to accept that my little baby boy is no longer my baby. He's a full blown boy. Which makes me happy/sad. It's a new emotion.

Here's what he's been up to
