I haven't had much to say lately. I lost my sweet Mom and blogging is the last thing I feel like doing. So for now, here is her obituary. That's so weird to write. We lost a great soul too soon. I miss you, Mom.
Sept 4, 1952 - Dec 30, 2013 OKLAHOMA CITY Nancy Lou Lewis, Oklahoma City, died suddenly Monday, December 30 in the comfort of her home. She was born September 4, 1952, to Cecil and Lucy Lewis in Ardmore, Oklahoma, where she attended Ardmore High School. She later attended the University of Texas. She is survived by her only daughter, Ashley Thornhill, of Oklahoma City; son-in-law, Stephen Thornhill; grandson, Grant Ehret; sister, Dixie Galloway; brother-in-law, Richard Galloway; brother, James Lewis; sister-in-law, Linda Eicher; all of Elizabeth, New Jersey; along with many loving nieces and nephews and their wonderful children, whom she adored immensely. She was active in business, her true passion and talent. She became an entrepreneur first with Shoe Biz company in Oklahoma City in the 1970s and later owned and operated a business in southwest Oklahoma City with her former husband, Don Monroe. She moved forward in her career, working in real estate and business management for Galloway and Lewis Exploration. She attended the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Oklahoma City for many years and enjoyed working in the church garden in her free time. Nancy will be remembered for many wonderful things. She had a tremendous sense of style and class. She was lively and had a way of lighting up any room she entered. She was a wonderful daughter to her parents throughout their lives, devoting the latter part of her years to their care, which she did impeccably. She was a sweet and full-of-life mother and grandmother to her daughter and grandsons. Her love of travel, life and family will always be cherished and never forgotten. Her memory will be honored on Monday, January 6 at the Hahn Cook funeral home at 2 p.m.
