Birthday Pictures, Finally!

I finally had a chance to post the pictures from Grant's school party. He was so excited!

Birthday Weekend

I'm worn out. Grant and I went to Frontier City Saturday and the fair Sunday. I've ridden more rides the last two days than I have my entire life. Grant loves roller coasters or anything that goes fasts or spins.

I'm a not big fan of spinning.  I got a little queasy.

Grant loved it all. I freaked out on the Ferris wheel. Yes, the Ferris wheel. I'm well aware of the ridiculousness of that statement.

Did you know they stop it while you're at the top? In a little picnic like bucket seat? With no seat belts or harnesses? And did you also know Grant likes to walk around while in this bucket thing at the top of the world with the wind blowing it side to side?

Never again.

Grant immediately found a map once inside to scope out our day.
I was stunned. Who does that? And at age 6?

Sunday Auntie Lauren and Janie took us to the fair. We rode every ride. Almost every ride. At least the ones that a 46 inch little boy can ride. My body hurts. I feel more like 33 and less like 18. Kind of a drag, but what a fun time we had!

As Seen on TV

This post will be one of few words. Let's just say I caved in at the check out line at Walgreen's and leave it at that.

Remember my last post? I was going on and on about Grant and his second grade hand writing.

Well, I made a discovery. Apparently, when you get in trouble in Kindergarten, you have to write something numerous times. It used to be just his name. I realized yesterday they are challenging him in new ways:

Front and Back

So, as Grant would say, " Leery, Mom. Quit briggeling".

Translation = Really, Mom. Quit Bragging.

Lesson learned. From my non-direction following, chatty when he's supposed to be quiet, sweet little boy who does indeed write on a second grade level.

It's Back....

Homework has started up again. I was dreading it, as last year we battled one another on it. This year, however, has been a breeze. He seems to enjoy what he is doing and does it well. I hope it stays this way.

Homework assignment #1
I would like to note that my child has the handwriting of a second grader.

A Second Grader! Can you believe it? His handwriting is so clear and perfect. I'm shocked just how far he has come in a year.

The only complaint his teacher had was: drum roll..........

He won't sit still and correctly in his chair.
